Hamdard Lauq Sapistan is a herbal Unani medicine. It is Laooq or linctus and is taken by licking with tongue. Laooq is Arabic word for Licking. The principal ingredient of this medicine is Sapistan (Cordia dichotama, C. latifolia fruit), and hence the medicine is Lauq Sapistan.

It is beneficial in cold and cough. It is very effective Munaffis (expectorant). It gives relief to phlegm. It is effective in cold, cough, and whooping cough. It reduces inflammation of the pharynx (sore throat). tonsils and the voice box from overuse, irritation or infection. 

Ingredients of Hamdard Lauq Sapistan: Sapistan (Cordia dichotama, latifolia fruit) Unnab (Zizyfus sativa fruit) Koknar (Papaver somniferum capsule) Asl-us-soos (Glycerrhiza glabra root) Parsiyaoshan / Persiaoshan (Adiantum capillus veresis) Tukhme-e-Khatmi (Althea officinalis seed) Tukhme-e-Khubbazi (Malva sylvestris seed) Behidana (Cydonia quincy seed) Qand Safaid Sheera-e-Maghz-e-Badam Sheera-e-Tukhme Khashkhash (Papaver somniferum seed) Katira Samagh-e-Arbi Rubbussoos (Glycyrrhiza glabra extract) 

Dosage of Hamdard Lauq Sapistan: The drug is taken in a dose of 10 grams, mixed with warm water. It is herbal medicine without any known side effects.
